If you go down to the woods today……….Join us & more importantly the Positive Ponies, Tom & Harvey for a woodland walk followed by a picnic (please feel free to bring a teddy to the picnic).
The fun starts at 11.30am meet the ponies, for a safety and pony handling instructions.
Next we groom the ponies, then we head out into the National Forest. We lead the ponies around the paths for around a mile, where you will enjoy time on the forest paths, stream and pond. At the end of our walk we go to the hidden picnic and den area.
The picnic area is a perfect place to enjoy the forest, ponies and a feast!
At the end of the picnic we head back to Hens HQ, return the ponies to their field and all our young guests go home with a Positive Ponies pack.

This is an outdoor activity so please come dressed for the Great British weather and with suitable footwear for being outside and around animals. The woodland is open to members of the public so we may meet other people and animals out on our walk. The paths are level but can get muddy if it rains, you will have to have good mobility as we will be going up and down hill during the walk with some trip hazards.
Our lovely ponies are part of our Positive Ponies team that both here at Hens HQ and out at schools lead animal assisted therapy and mental health sessions. They are well handled and trained and used to being in different situations around humans of all ages. They are of course animals and can occasional step on feet and react as flight animals do. As part of our health and safety talk at the start of the day we will cover how to behave and handle the ponies to ensure everyone has a lovely safe time. We provide full risk assessments and are first aid trained.
